Frequently Asked Questions
What types of businesses do you work with?
We specialize in new and young businesses that are growing, and feeling the growing pains
that come with it. If your business is moving faster than your financial systems, or you're facing
decisions that feel too big to make on instinct, you're exactly who we're here for.
What is an Enrolled Agent (EA)?
An Enrolled Agent is a tax professional licensed by the IRS. EAs have earned the right to
represent taxpayers before the IRS on audits, collections, and appeals, and they complete
ongoing education to stay current on tax law. It's the highest credential the IRS awards.
What is a fractional CFO, and do I need one?
A fractional CFO gives you the financial leadership of a Chief Financial Officer on a part-time,
monthly basis, without the cost of a full-time hire. It's a great fit if you're making bigger decisions
about pricing, hiring, cash flow, or funding and want an experienced partner helping you read
the numbers and plan ahead.
Can you help me with tax planning throughout the year?
Absolutely. Good tax planning happens all year, not just in April. We check in regularly to review
your finances and put strategies in place before year-end, so you can lower your tax bill and
keep more cash in your business.
Do you prepare personal tax returns?
Yes. In addition to our business services, we prepare individual and family tax returns. Many
business owners like having their personal and business taxes handled in one place, but you
don't need to own a business to work with us.
How is your approach different?
We don't just file your taxes and look at last year's numbers. We get to know your business,
explain things in plain language, and help you plan for where you want to go. We see ourselves
as a long-term partner, not a once-a-year vendor.
How do you charge for your services?
We believe in transparency. We offer fixed fees for defined work like tax preparation, and a
monthly fee for ongoing services like fractional CFO support. You'll know what you're paying
before any work begins.
What should I have ready for our first conversation?
Nothing formal. Just come ready to talk about your business, where it is today, and where you'd
like it to go. If you have recent tax returns or financial statements handy, those help, but they're
not required to get started.
How can I schedule a consultation?
